Sean McLaughlin

Sean McLaughlin has been the VP of news at Graham Media group since April 2024. He leads transformation efforts for the company’s six local media hubs. He works closely with station management to develop modernized approaches to local content and distribution while also focusing on elevating the quality of local journalism.

Prior to coming to Graham, McLaughlin was SVP, local news for Scripps, leading local news strategy for its 60 local stations.

McLaughlin has more than 30 years’ experience in local news, working as a news director for about half that time. He got into the business as a reporter/anchor before getting into news management in the late 1990s.

He has served as a director of the RTDNA board since 2020. He is married with three children and lives in Detroit.
